The Nkalakatha hitmaker passed away today after a long time battling with cancer.
Mandoza was diagnosed with cancer last year.
His friend and producer Gabi le Roux confirmed the passing away of the Kwaito star.
The 38-year-old talent was discovered by Arthur Mafokate, also known as the King of Kwaito. His music was first played on air by DJ Sipho Mbatha of Durban Youth Radio.
Mandoza used his music to encourage youth to achieve their goals. His song Uzoyithola Kanjani means, “How are you going to get it if you don’t get up and go for it.”
He credited a lot of his success to his mentor, Glenn Morris, who helped him during his drug-filled early years.
Mandoza sang in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu and isiXhosa.
