Early Life and Education
Ji Chang-wook was born in 5 July 1987 in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He studied at Dankook University, majoring Theater and Film.
Career
Ji Chang-wook began his career in musical theater and made his screen debut in the 2006 film Days…, he then cast in drama You Stole My Heart. He rose to fame in the film Sleeping Beauty. He was starred in My Too Perfect Sons and was cast in action-comedy Hero. In 2010, Ji starred in Smile Again as a Korean-American short track speed skater.
Ji Chang-wook starred in Warrior Baek Dong-soo as Baek Dong-soo with Yoo Seung-ho. He then appeared in Bachelor’s Vegetable Store as Han Tae-yang. In 2012, Ji was cast in Five Fingers as a pianist who envies his older brother’s natural gift for music.He returned to musical theater with The Days as a presidential bodyguard.
Ji Chang-wook made his breakthrough in historical drama Empress Ki as Toghon Temür. He then played in action-thriller drama Healer in 2014-2015. Ji then starred in The Whirlwind Girl 2 as Chang An and Mr. Right. In 2016, he was cast in The K2 as a bodyguard who is betrayed by his fellow countrymen and falls in love with a girl with PTSD and apparent sociophobia. Ji was then co-starred in First Seven Kisses.
Ji Chang-wook played as Kwon Yoo a jobless game addict who becomes a framed murderer in Fabricated City in 2016. Later the same year he starred in Suspicious Partner as a prosecutor alongside Nam Ji-hyun. Ji was cast in Melting Me Softly as television producer Ma Dong-chan after his miltary discharge in 2019.
Ji Chang-wook starred in Backstreet Rookie alongside Kim Yoo-jung. He then cast in web series Lovestruck in the City. Ji also starred in a film Hard Hit.
In 2022 Ji Chang-wook will be stairring in the Netflix series The Sound of Magic as mysterious magician Lee Eul.
Military Enlistment
Ji Chang-wook was enlisted in the military on August 2017.He went to Army’s 3rd Infantry Division at Cheorwon, Gangwon Province for basic training and he got a prize for high performance.
Ji Chang-wook was appointed as a Platoon Leader and promoted to Corporal after his assigment to the Army’s 5th Artillery Brigade at Cheorwon, Gangwon Province. He was discharged on 27 April 2019.
