Mandoza’s Family Reveals The Truth About Mzwakhe Mbuli Fraud Allegations
However the family of the late kwaito star Mduduzi “Mandoza” Tshabalala have denied reports that there was an attempt to defraud his estate.
Musician Mzwakhe Mbuli, Mandoza’s uncle Mzwakhe Tshabalala and the late singer’s wife, Mpho, held a media briefing in Braamfontein, Joburg yesterday.
The reports had claimed that Mbuli and Mandoza’s manager, Kevin Ntaopane, had sent a letter to the Music Association of South Africa asking for funds to bankroll Nkalakatha Records.
Addressing the media, the association’s CEO, Tebogo Sithathu, said the reports were tarnishing Mbuli’s name.
Mpho said she had never approached newspapers to accuse Mbuli and Ntaopane of fraud. She said she called Mbuli after reading about the allegations in a newspaper.
“It made me feel better when Icalled Mzwakhe and he told me not to worry about the reports. However, I’m worried about how people would look at me after it was reported that I had fired the same people who helped my husband and I,” she said.
Mbuli criticised the media and called on journalists to write fair and truthful reports.
Ntaopane said he was speechless.
