West Coast District Municipality: Bursaries 2023

West Coast District Municipality is inviting qualifying students to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 academic year.

About our Bursary

Bursary applications are invited from first-, second and third-year students for the 2022 and 2023 academic year, which will be extended provided that the candidates comply with the bursary conditions.

This bursary also focuses on current Grade 12 students applying for their first year of studies in 2023.

The bursary is restricted to full-time study at an accredited University or the University of Technology or part-time at Unisa.

Preference will be given to individuals from historically disadvantaged or individuals with disabilities.

Parents/guardians of the student must reside within the West Coast Municipal Area.

Note: The maximum estimated bursary amount is R50 000 per student for study fees (excluding accommodation or any other items).

Applicants who intend to study for an undergraduate degree (NQF6 / NQF7) or national diploma (NQF6) in the following fields and who have been accepted by a University or University of Technology will be considered:

  • Economics
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Internal Auditing / Risk Management
  • Financial Management / Accounting
  • Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Human Resource Management / Development
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Public Administration / Management
  • Environmental Health Practices

Note: Application forms are available at the Municipality’s Human Resource Management offices during business hours (Mon to Thu 07h45 – 16h30 and Fri 07h45 – 15h15).

  • Completed application form
  • ID documents (certified copies)
  • Matric certificate(certified copies)
  • Complete academic records or transcripts, including the latest results (must be on institution letterhead)
