Ayanda Thabethe (born 18 March 1986) is a South African entrepreneur, actress, tv host, and model. She is popularly known for hosting the South African magazine show, Top Billing. Ayanda is a brand ambassador for some of the world’s leading brands.

Early life and Education

Ayanda Thabethe was born on 18 March 1986, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She has four siblings including Lungile her younger sister. Their parents separated when Ayanda was two years old, they were raised by their mother.

Her mother was a nurse, and Ayanda assisted in her mom’s business of tailoring dresses and selling cold drinks to cater to their needs. They lived in different towns in Durban like Shayamoya, Umlazi, Kwa Mashu, and Ntuzuma.

Ayanda studied at Sacred Heart Girls’ High School, an All-girls boarding school. She graduated from the University of Pretoria with a BCOM Communication Management degree in 2007. Ayanda later received an Honor Marketing degree from the University of South Africa in 2011.

Career

Ayanda is an entrepreneur, she is the Managing Director and Founder of Buzzworthy Productions since 2011. Her marketing agency Buzzworthy services companies aim to create “a buzz” for their brands. The agency has grown into a blue-chip client list, they initiated the ROUNDA which is a public-private backed by the South African government.

Ayanda debuted as an actress in Him, Her & the Guys as Noxy in Season 1. She was a cameo in Generations Legacy as Gugu. In 2016, Ayanda appeared in Rockville as Aliyah. later she was cast in Tooth and Nails as a pregnant teen. Later she starred in Zaziwa as herself.

She debuted as a model in 2016, Ayanda has worked with successful different fashions and magazine covers. She was the face of Legit Fashion’s limited summer range in 2016. Her great appearance led her to the leading roles in popular Tv adverts.

Her career as a Tv host began with BET Africa’s lifestyle magazine show, Top Billing on SABC3. She hosted season 1 of the Top Entertainment show. Later Ayanda was the guest judge of Presenter Search on 3 season 2. She hosted the first season of the BET A-List show.

Ayanda dated Andile Ncube, a television presenter. The couple got married and broke up after two (2) years. The couple had no child yet. She then dated Zulu Mkhathini best known as Dash for some good years, Dash and Ayanda later broke up.

Ayanda is currently dating Peter Matsimbe and the couple has one child. Ayanda gave birth on 16 March 2022. Her baby daddy was not known not until entertainment and gossip blogger, Musa Khawula tweeted about the couple’s vacation in Dubai claiming that Peter Matsimbe is a married man, because he appeared in many videos with his wedding ring.

Ayanda informed the public through her social media platforms, she replied “I definitely am NOT dating, nor do I have a child with a married OR even engaged man”.
