Mshoza On Skin Bleaching – “People Think I Don’t Like Being Black”

MshozaKwaito singer Mshoza has faced her fair share of controversy- from broke rumours to backlash over her skin lightening procedures‚ she’s been through it all.

Over the years Mshoza has also found herself making headlines for romantic relationships with wealthy businessmen‚ which saw her being labeled a gold digger.

In a telling interview on Cliffcentral recently Mshoza spoke out about the title‚ making it clear that she’s far from a gold digger.

Mshoza explained that it’s also tough to deal with all the negative publicity surrounding her.

“Having to act as if I’m strong enough to take whatever is thrown at me by the media‚ that’s difficult‚ that’s tough. You know you’re just trying to live your life but the vultures are out there.”

Skin bleaching is an insult to Africans:

Mshoza added that she has a family and kids who are old enough to read what’s written about her‚ and they get hurt over it.

The singer said that the two misconceptions about her is that she’s a gold digger and that she doesn’t like being black.

“The biggest misconception that people have about me is that I’m a gold digger. That I don’t like being black‚ but that’s wrong. I’m a girl who has been through a lot but I never give up. “

Mshoza says that she wants people to think of Mshoza as a girl who loves people and music‚ rather than a gold digger.

“We’re human and we can’t be perfect‚ but we’re expected to be perfect.”

Earlier this year Mshoza found herself in midst of a frenzy after she underwent a shocking transformation to look like Nicki Minaj. The transformation‚ which was documented by MTV Base Africa‚ sparked widespread criticism and hate aimed at the kwaito star.

The good news is that despite all the controversy‚ Mshoza is back on her feet and is excited about releasing her first album in 11 years in October.
