Wesgro is the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape province of South Africa.
Wesgro, also known as the Cape Town and Western Cape Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, is a legislated Schedule 3C Public Entity, as provided for in the Western Cape Investment and Trade Promotion Agency Amendment Act, 2013.
Wesgro is overseen by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism of the Western Cape Government. The Agency is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Executive Authority in terms of section 3 of the Act.
Wesgro has a wealth of knowledge on doing business in the Western Cape province and is therefore the first point of contact for foreign investors and local exporters wishing to take advantage of the unlimited business potential in the region.
Wesgro works closely with key players including the local, provincial and national government.
The Agency’s mandate is to attract and facilitate domestic and foreign investment into the Western Cape province, nationally and internationally; growing exports of products and services of the Western Cape through development of export capability, demand and market access; and to market Cape Town and the Western Cape as a competitive business, film, travel and leisure destination.
