Slikour On Life’s Verse Of The Year 2019 winners have finally been revealed.
The 3rd annual Verse Of The Year awards were taken digital in order to honour and respect our responsibility of social distancing during the current Covid-19 epidermic.
Slikour On Life partnered with Hennessy and Castle Lite to bring you Verse Of The Year Awards 2019 “The People vs The Panel”.
Initially Stogie T nominated 20 rappers who he thought had good rap verses in the year 2019, these rappers were;
Big Zulu, Blaklez, Cxntent, Ginger Trill, Kid Tini, Kid X, M2KaNe, Melly Mel, Nandile, N’veigh, Overkill Twist, PdotO, ProVerb, Reason, Rouge, Soso World, The Big Hash, Touchline, Towdee Mac and YoungstaCPT.
South African hip hop fans were then asked to visit the Slikour On Life website and vote for who they thought had the best rap verse of 2019.
A 5 member panel of judges who are actually seasoned South African hip hop pioneers was then created in order to arrive at the final decision but also putting into consideration the people’s votes.
The judges were:

- Lee Kasumba
- Ms Cosmo

- A-Reece : Hennessy People’s Choice Award for ‘Blood in blood out’
Pretoria’s favourite rapper Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge also known as A-Reece was voted by the people for his verse on ‘Blood in blood out’.
