Tylden is a village situated on the banks of the Swart Kei (Black Kei) River in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, approximately 30 km north of Cathcart by car and 39 km south-east of Komani (formerly known as Queenstown).
Tylden village falls within the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality and the Chris Hani District Municipality. It is administered by a village management board.
The village was named after Captain Tylden of the Royal Engineers, officer in charge of a campaign against the Tambookies (Tembus) in 1851.
