Tentergate is a small town situated on the banks of the Swart Kei (Black Kei) River in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
Tentergate falls within the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality and the Chris Hani District Municipality.
Tentergate was established in 1976 as a relocation camp for the people who fled Herschel ahead of its incorporation into an independent Transkei.
