Statistics South Africa (Stats SA)

Statistics South Africa, also known as Stats SA is South Africa’s national statistical service that aims to produce accurate, timely, and official statistics, to advance economic development, growth, and democracy.

To achieve its aim, Statistics South Africa produces official demographic, social, and economic censuses and surveys.

The main function of Statistics South Africa is to capture, collect, process, analyse, and publish key social and economic statistics needed by the Government of South Africa and the nation to formulate policy, monitor social and economic development, and conduct social and economic research.
