The South African Bank Note Company (SABN) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) responsible for printing all the banknote denominations currently in use in South Africa. It also prints banknotes for neighbouring countries.
The South African Reserve Bank is inturn an entity of the the National Assembly (NA) under the National Government of South Africa.
The South African Bank Note Company (Pty) Ltd has a separate management structure, functioning as an independent subsidiary, and members of its board are appointed by the board of the South African Reserve Bank.
