The Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison is part of the Northern Cape Provincial Government in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.
The vision of the Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison is to be a leader in the creation and coordination of safe, secure and sustainable transport and policing systems for a crime-free Northern Cape Province.
The mission of the Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison is to enable a safe and secure environment and mobility for the community of the Northern Cape Province through:
- Good corporate governance, management, administration and support
- Establishing and supporting community safety partnerships
- Monitoring and oversight of the police
- Facilitating and coordinating social crime prevention and road safety programmes
- Educating, enforcing and administering road traffic legislation
- Liaison with all relevant stakeholders, role-players and clients pertaining to policing, safety and security
- Regulated and integrated transport modes that are economically and environmentally sustainable
The strategic outcome-orientated goals of the Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison are:

- Transparent and accountable law enforcement agencies in the Northern Cape by 2020
- A safe and secure environment in the province by 2020
- To enable and ensure effective, efficient and safe mobility in the province
- To reduce road crashes and fatalities on the roads by 2019 through effective promotion, coordination and implementation of road traffic strategies and legislation
- To further enhance the overall quality of road traffic services by promoting, coordinating and implementing road traffic safety and by managing the process of vehicle registration and licencing
