Nkwifa is a rural settlement situated on the banks of the Nkwifa River in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, approximately 5 km west of Umzinto (officially renamed eMuziwezinto).
The village is named after the Nkwifa River, which flows past it. The name, Nkwifa, is derived from Zulu and means ‘the spewing one’, referring to the waterfall.
Nkwifa falls within the uMdoni Local Municipality, which is part of the Ugu District Municipality.
