Ndwedwe is a small town in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, situated approximately 20 km west-north-west of oThongathi and 60 km north of Durban.
Ndwedwe is the main town and administrative centre/seat of the Ndwedwe Local Municipality, which is part of the iLembe District Municipality.
Of Zulu origin, the name is said to mean “long, bare table-land or ridge,” or “pensive,” referring to its peaceful setting in the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
