Ncwadi is a small town in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, situated on the Ncwadi River, a tributary of the uMkhomazi River, approximately 70 km south-west of Pietermaritzburg.
Derived from Zulu, the name apparently means ‘conspicuous’, from a prominent hill.
Ncwadi falls within the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality, which is part of the Harry Gwala District Municipality.
