Mamelodi Sundowns to loan out Jody Ah Shene
– Mamelodi Sundowns will loan out Jody Ah Shene after the Cape Town City F.C. deal

According to SABC Sport, Masandawana is going to loan out young sensation forward Jody Ah Shene, despite having already agreed a transfer deal with Cape Town City.
A club-to-club fee has been finalised between Sundowns and Cape Town City F.C., pending personal terms and a routine medical, but the reigning Betway Premiership champions have opted for a different route.
The hierachy at Mamelodi Sundowns have decided that it is best for Jody Ah Shene to go out on loan and get more playing time and experience.
Therefore Ah Shene will spend the remainder of the 2025/26 season on loan at University of Pretoria (AmaTuks).
Masandawana’s decision to place Jody Ah Shene at the University of Pretoria instead of loaning him back to Cape Town City appears strategic as the the Brazilians enjoy a strong and good working relationship with AmaTuks in the past few years.
Mamelodi Sundowns also want to keep Ah Shene closer to Chloorkop in Tshwane where they can easily monitor his progress with an eye for the future.
This young striker from Ocean View, Cape Town in the Western Cape province burst onto the scene in 2024 when Eric Tinkler promoted him to Cape Town City’s senior team in March. Since then, he has already featured in more than 25 Premiership matches, gaining valuable topflight experience.
Therefore should the transfer deal be fully completed as expected, Jody Ah Shene will become Mamelodi Sundowns’ third signing of the current transfer window, after the arrivals of midfielder Katlego “Tsiki” Ntshabeleng and defender Fawaaz Basadien.
