Jody Ah Shene rejects transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns transfer news: It was a done deal between Masandawana and Cape Town City for the transfer of striker Jody Ah Shene to Chloorkop, but the young striker rejected the transfer, opting to stay with the Cape Town club.

Mamelodi Sundowns had reached total club-to-club agreement with Cape Town City to sign striker Jody Ah Shene for an undisclosed transfer fee.

The deal was however subject to agreement of personal terms before the transfer deadline as well as the 20-year-old striker completing his medicals.

The deal was to be be fully completed in next 24–48 hours after personal terms had been agreed.

Jody Ah Shene is a top talent with great potential and with the transfer window set to close on Monday 22 September 2025 – the Brazilians have acted swiftly for the deal to be completed.

Jody Ah Shene made his senior debut for Cape Town City in March this year after developing into one of the most prolific strikers in the DStv Diski Challenge.

A few weeks later, the 20-year-old striker netted his first senior goal for the Citizens and was later nominated as the Player of the season in the DStv Diski Challenge.

Ah Shene has risen to prominence also included in the U20 COSAFA Cup title and Golden Boot en route to winning the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt – as an integral part of the Amajita set-up.

Ah Shene is part of the 21-man U20 World Cup squads that will kickoff on September – alongside Sundowns talents Thato Sibiya, Gomolemo Kekana, Siyabonga Mabena and Kutlwano Lethlaku.
