Makumeke is a small village situated in the Thulamela Local Municipality within the Vhembe District Municipality of Limpopo Province, approximately 9 km from Malamulele Township in northern South Africa.
The name Makumeke means “one who is found” in Xitsonga.
Makumeke village lies near or on five rivers: the large Rivhubye River, the intermittent river Ngholombi and rivulets Sanavi, Hlantswatindyelo, and Mitlhwari. The latter three flow through the community’s north side.
