Mahlabathini is a rural town in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, situated approximately 17 km north of Izingolweni, 41 km north-west of Port Shepstone, and 54 km south-east of Harding.
Mahlabathini falls within the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality, which is part of the Ugu District Municipality.
Mahlabathini is the birthplace of Sfiso Buthelezi, a politician and member of the African National Congress (ANC), the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi (1928-2023), a politician and Zulu Nation leader who founded the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in 1975, Thokozani Langa, a South African maskandi musician, and the late Oliver Wakefield (1909-1956), actor and comedian successful in Britain and the United States of America.
