The KZN Growth Fund Agency (KGFA) is an unlisted entity of the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government.
The KZN Growth Fund Agency was initially set up in 2008 as an initiative of the KwaZulu-Natal Government’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT), currently Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, and was structured as a debt fund.
The KZN Growth Fund Agency, which became operational in 2009, finances medium to large-scale private sector projects throughout the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.
The main objective for the establishment of the KZN Growth Fund Agency was to provide competitive and innovative solutions to private sector investments that propel socio-economic growth in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs is the sole beneficiary of the KZN Growth Fund Agency.
The objectives of the KZN Growth Fund Agency are in line with the provincial Growth and Development Strategy as well as the New Growth Path Framework and various sector priorities.
