Kutlwanong Township, Free State

Kutlwanong is a township in the gold mining town of Odendaalsrus in the northern region of the Free State province of South Africa.

Kutlwanong township falls under the Matjhabeng Local Municipality in the Lejweleputswa District and was established to house black people during the apartheid era.

The township is located approximately 10 km outside Odendaalsrus, between Allanridge and Welkom

Kutlwanong is divided into 16 sections, namely: k1, k2, k3, k4, k5, k6, k7, k8, k9, k10 and block 1, block 2, block 4, block 5, block 6, and block 7.

Kutlwanong is surrounded by two mines namely Phakisa and Tshepong which are managed by Harmony mine.
