Im Yoon-ah (born May 30, 1990), Professionally known as Yoona, a South Korean singer and actress. She debuted as a member of girl group Girls’ Generation (and later its subgroup Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG) in August 2007. Yoona made her breakthrough after her starring in television series You Are My Destiny (2008).
She gained popularity after her roles in Love Rain (2012), Prime Minister & I (2013), The King in Love (2017) and her films includes Confidential Assignment (2017) and Exit (2019).

Early Life and Education
Im Yoon-ah was born on 30 May 1990 in Yeongdeungpo-gu of Seoul, South Korea. She has a sister Im Yoon-jeong. Yoona graduated from Daeyoung High School in 2009, She majoured in in theater studies at Dongguk University in February 2015.
Yoona received a a lifetime achievement award at the graduation ceremony.
Career
Im Yoon-ah was introduced to the public through various appearances in music videos and commercials; she appeared in TVXQ’s “Magic Castle” music video in 2004. She made her debut official as a member of Girls’ Generation in August 2007, becoming the “center” of the group.
Im Yoon-ah began her acting career in 2007 when appeared in drama Two Outs in the Ninth Inning. She then cast in Woman of Matchless Beauty. In 2008 she took the leading role in You Are My Destiny, she later starred in Cinderella Man along with Kwon Sang-woo. Yoona was cast in Love Rain alongside Jang Geun Suk.
Im Yoon-ah was cast in Prime Minister & I alongside Lee Beom-soo in 2013. She released her first solo single “Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway”, a collaboration with the South Korean indie group 10cm,as part of SM Station in 2016.
Im Yoon-ah was cast in God of War, Zhao Yunwhich made her debut in Chaina in 2016. She later released her mini-album titled Blossom which contains Mandarin songs.
Im Yoon-ah gained more popularity when she starred in The K2. She made her film debut in action film, Confidential Assignment. Yoona was cast in historical drama The King in Love. Im Yoon-ah released her second solo single “When The Wind Blows” as part of SM Station.
Im Yoon-ah joined the second season of Hyori’s Homestay as a new helper in 2018. She then released her third solo single “To You. In August 2018, a Girls’ Generation subgroup named Oh!GG was formed with Yoona alongside the four other SNSD members who had decided to renew their contracts with SM entertainment; the group released the single “Lil’ Touch”.
Im Yoon-ah released her debut extended play A Walk to Remember, On May 30, 2019, to celebrate her 29th birthday (30th in Korean age).
Im Yoon-ah was cast in film Exit alongside Jo Jung-suk in 2019. She starred in drama Hush in 2020 where she potrayed as an intern reporter. Yoona played in drama film Miracle: Letters to the President in 2021.

Im Yoon-ah has been a spokesperson for various brands, she became the first idol to endorse S-Oil, a large South Korean petroleum and refinery company. Yoona became the first overseas endorser for Alcon Taiwan.
