East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ)

The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) is a public entity under the Eastern Cape Provincial Government in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, mandated to develop and operate the 9,003 hectare Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in terms of the SEZ Act 16 of 2014.

The mission of the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) is to provide investor solutions and to attract and develop strategic industries that strengthen South Africa’s global competitiveness through the development and operation of a thriving, specialised industrial complex.

The strategic goals of the East London Industrial Development Zone are to;

  • Secure targeted investors and investments in strategic industries; deliver on customer value promise
  • Develop and operate the IDZ
  • Build organisational capability to deliver its mandate and satisfy customer needs
  • Create sustainable organisation
  • Maximise the developmental contribution of the ELIDZ
