About our Internships
The Discovery Internship Programme was first launched in 2006 and we have successfully developed and changed the lives of over 500 graduates, with an average permanent placement of 71% post an internship.
Interns will be awarded an opportunity to join the smartest team in the industry and be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment after your 12 months with Discovery.
Requirements you need to apply for the Internship
- You must be a South African Citizen by Birth
- You must be between 18 – 30 years (Essential)
- You must have no work experience
- No previous internship and or graduate programme in any industry or government institution
Internship Opportunities which are open for applications include:
Developer/ Report Analyst – Internship
- BSc Computer Science / Information system degree completed
- Have no work experience and has not undertaken previous internship opportunities.
Technical Consultant – Internship
- Matric (Essential)
- BCOMM/Risk Management
- Any BSC Degree (Advantageous )
Risk Engineer – Internship
- Matric / Grade 12 is essential.
- Any Engineering degree or similar (Essential)
- Risk Management Diploma / Degree or similar (Essential)
Business Analyst – Internship
- Informatics or other relevant degrees
Actuarial Internship
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science
- Good progress with actuarial exams
Data Analyst HR Internship
- Matric / Grade 12 is essential.
- Relevant Analytics qualification
- Diploma in HR or relevant HR courses (Advantageous)
Legal Advisor Internship
- LLB / B.Degree in Law
Wealth Management Learnership
- You must have Grade 12 / Matric
- You must be between 18 and 25 years
- You must not have completed any previous Learnership
- You must be a South African citizen
Long Term Insurance Learnership
- You must have Grade 12 / Matric
- You must be between 18 and 25 years
- You must not have completed any previous Learnership

Short Term Insurance Learnership
- You must have Grade 12 / Matric
