Coldstream is a village in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, situated close to the Western Cape provincial border along the R102 Regional Route, east of Plettenberg Bay on the Tsitsikamma coast.
Coldstream village falls within the Kou-Kamma Local Municipality and the Sarah Baartman District Municipality.
The area is famous for a burial stone excavated here in 1910, depicting a prehistoric artist holding a brush-feather and palette, indicating that rock paintings were being executed in South Africa some 2,000 years ago.
The village is said to have been named after a cold stream flowing past.
