Clarkson is a town situated along the R102 Provincial Route in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, 60 km west of Humansdorp and 26 km south-east of Assegaaibos railway station.
Clarkson falls within the Kou-Kamma Local Municipality and the Sarah Baartman District Municipality.
History
The town was founded as a mission station that was established by Bishop Hans Peter Hallbeck in 1839 and named after Thomas Clarkson, who helped abolish the slave-trade.
