Blyde Smit
Blyde Smit (born 1995) is a South African actress and production designer. She is famously known for starring Gabby Kemp in 7de Laan (2019-2021), Dead Places (2021), and The Construct.

Early life and Education
Blyde Smit was born in 1995 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Drama from the University of Pretoria in 2016. Blyde also received an honors degree in Drama and Film Studies from the same university.
Career
Blyde Smit made her television debut in the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes where she played the role of Little Kate. She starred in the first two seasons of the show (2007-2009).
Blyde opened a photography and videography studio in Pretoria called Sowaar Studios. Byyde appeared in television commercials for KFC and Kinderjoy.
She performed in many theatre productions like Shedding the Load, Flikflooi, and Still. She performed in plays like Kersfees and Koue Tee deur.
In 2018, Blyde Smit played the guest role of Svetlana in an episode of the e.tv soapie Scandal!. She starred in the SBC2 soap opera 7de Laan as “Gabby Kemp”.
Blyde was cast in the Netflix paranormal series Dead Places as nurse Rebecca. She is starring in the Showmax show Troukoors (Wedding Fever) as Luca, Jessica’s younger sister. The first season was released in 2021 and the second season was released on 5 May 2022.
