The Agribusiness Development Agency (ADA) is a state-owned entity created by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government to support the development of emergent black commercial farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.
Since 2009, now under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the objective of the Agribusiness Development Agency was to redress the economic inequalities in the agricultural sector in KwaZulu-Natal.
The ADA recognizes that an approach which focuses on the strengthening of both primary production and the entire value chains is more effective to the development of commodities in KwaZulu-Natal.
In this regard, ADA has identified the adoption of agri-hubs in commodity value chains as a possible option in the development of the commodities sector.
The vision of the Agribusiness Development Agency is of a diverse, deracialised, prosperous and sustainable agribusiness sector in KwaZulu-Natal.
The mission of ADA is striving to facilitate, establish, promote and support the growth of enterprises owned and managed by the targeted groups along the agricultural value chains through partnerships in order to achieve a transformed agribusiness sector in KwaZulu-Natal.
