2023 Bursaries of Gauteng Dept of Social Development

The Gauteng Department of Social Development is inviting students to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 academic year.
The Bursary Application Closing Date: 28 October 2022
The Gauteng Department of Social Development is offering bursary opportunities to deserving students who reside in Gauteng to promote skills development and quality education.
Students must excel academically and have a passion to pursue a career in the Social sector. Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study to students who are not currently benefiting from any other bursary scheme:
- Community Development
- Financial Management
- Demography and Population Studies
- Clinical Psychology
- Occupational Therapy
About the Bursary Programme
The bursary will cover the following expenses: registration, tuition, prescribed books, and study material successful.
Successful candidates will be contacted within 3 months after the application deadline – if you do not receive any feedback by the end of January 2023, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
Successful candidates will be required to enter into a contractual agreement with the Gauteng Department of Social Development.
Requirements you need to apply for the Bursary
You must be a South African citizen
You must reside within the Gauteng province (for a minimum of 1 year before applying for this bursary)
You must have completed Matric
You must be studying or intend on studying full-time towards a qualification in one of the fields above, in 2023
You must be studying or have been accepted to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
You must have a strong academic record
You must intend on pursuing a career within the Social Sector
You must NOT be in receipt of any other bursary funding
Note: Youth from all races and gender groups, youth leaving child and youth care facilities as well as youth with disabilities who meet the minimum entry requirements are encouraged to apply.

Proof of tertiary acceptance/proof of registration

Proof of residence
Parents / Guardian’s proof of income (pay slips or affidavit if unemployed
All successful applicants will be required to enter into contractual agreements with the Department.
